Healthy Israel 2020 is an initiative of the Ministry of Health and aims to create a continuum of disease prevention and health promotion programs among all segments of Israeli society. The magnitude of the project, both in so far as the resources required as well as the operational complexity, demanded a flexible, responsive and heavily funded system. This posed a tremendous challenge, which almost saw the project brought to a halt.
